What will Christmas look like this year?
The current lockdown restrictions are due to expire on November 18, at which point the government will decide which measures need to stay in place and which can be forgotten about. On many people’s minds at the moment is the question of how we will be allowed to spend Christmas. For example, will we be permitted to have guests? Will people be allowed to travel from different parts of the country to join their families for Christmas? Across Western Europe, things are looking a bit uncertain when it comes to Christmas.
Yesterday the cabinet met at the Cathuis to discuss the current restrictions that have been imposed and whether to alter these restrictions. However, no decision was made then regarding restrictions post-November 18. The new guidelines are due to be announced on the evening of November 18 instead. Fingers crossed the government can find a way to allow people a semi-normal Christmas under these very unusual circumstances.
