It’s the news we’ve all been waiting to hear: Ice Amsterdam on Museumplein is officially open. So, if you wait all year to dust off those ice skates then start dusting because this iconic Amsterdam ice rink will be open until February 5, 2023!
Amsterdam’s certainly starting to feel chilly and although it’s technically still autumn, we can’t help getting excited for the winter months. Ice Amsterdam opening basically signals the beginning of the festive season, after all.
The ice rink opens between 10 am and 10 pm, Sunday to Thursday then 10 am to 11 pm Friday and Saturday, so you’ll be able to skate in the dark! Very wintery indeed!
Once you’ve exhausted yourself, ice skating around without a care in the world, you can chow down on some tasty food at the bistro. The bistro’s open an hour later than the ice rink so you can make the most of those evening hours.
There you’ll find juicy burgers, tasty sandwiches and salads and a selection of drinks, including truly indulgent hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and, of course, beer! Plus, the real highlight is the cheese fondue! Perfect for sharing with your fellow skaters.
If you’re really into skating (and what a fantastic place to do it), you can buy a ticket that entitles you to unlimited visits for €95.00. Alternatively, it will cost you €7.50 per person if you have your own skates and €14.50 if you need to rent some.
Every Thursday and Saturday evening there will also be a silent disco on the ice between the hours of 7 pm and 10 pm! If you’d like to take part then you can get your silent disco headphones for €10.00. However, on December 15 and 31 there won’t be a silent disco.
