They’re so vivid and vibrant.
If you were out and about around Amsterdam yesterday you might have been surprised to see three sunflower installations, bursting with beautiful colour. This ‘Sunflower Flash’ was the product of a collaboration between the amazing Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the expert florists of The Wunderkammer, and we couldn’t get enough of it.
The inspiration behind planting these stunning yellow flowers was, of course, Van Gogh’s sunflower paintings. And they were no ordinary sunflowers, either. The seeds were provided by Takii Seed and the variation, which produces tall, magnificent sunflowers is called ‘Sunrich: Van Gogh’s Favourite sunflowers’.
The flowers were revealed yesterday, and people were allowed to take them home, so they have already disappeared. They were at Nieuwmarkt, Station Bijlmer Arena and Mosplein, and if you couldn’t catch the installation in time then you can still see Van Gogh’s sunflower paintings at the museum itself. Visit the website to learn more about this installation.
