The government has just made a decision that will impact travelers to the Netherlands and those returning home, and it’s very good news! From March 23 those traveling within the EU/Schengen boundaries won’t have to prove they have been vaccinated or test negative for Covid-19 in order to enter the country.
For those of us living in a different country from our friends and family this will make a huge difference because it will be much easier to travel within the EU and honestly, we’re packing our bags already!
For two years we’ve been under some form of restrictions in the Netherlands but now Amsterdam feels altogether more normal, similar to how it felt before we even knew what Covid-19 was. However, travel has retained restrictions because of the danger contagion can pose to public health.
Now that’s all about to change and it will be so much easier to navigate the airport. We’ll still need to complete a health declaration form when entering the country but it seems like a very drastic improvement from the previously mandatory negative Covid-19 tests or proof of vaccination. Take a look at the government website before you travel to make sure you’re up to speed with the latest regulations.
