Experience the enchanting world of “Klimt, Gold in Motion” at Fabrique des Lumières

The industrial heritage of Fabrique des Lumières provides the perfect setting for a journey through imperial Vienna through Gustav Klimt’s masterpieces. The building dates back to 1883 and served at the time as a massive, coal-fired gasworks. Today, the site is a magnificent example of Dutch Neo-Renaissance architecture with elegant arches.
Inside this atmospheric space, over a hundred video projectors and a state-of-the-art sound system bring world-famous works of art such as The Kiss and Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I to life. The impressive projections cover monumental walls up to 17 meters high and a gigantic surface area of no less than 3,800 m².
Klimt’s artistic evolution in a serene atmosphere of wonder

From the early frescoes for the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the Burgtheater, the exhibition flows seamlessly into the organic forms and artistic revolution of the Vienna Secession. The colorful portraits, sensational nudes, and opulent nature scenes serve as a prelude to the absolute climax of the presentation, which centers on his masterful “Golden Phase.”
In addition, the digital gallery highlights Klimt’s profound vision of nature. By replacing human figures with serene panoramas, visitors here wander, as it were, through the landscape of his soul.
This breathtaking visual spectacle is accompanied by a carefully curated soundtrack featuring masterpieces by the greatest composers, including Strauss and Beethoven.
