There’s no denying that Europe is full of picture-perfect spots, but they can’t all be the best. New York-based travel magazine Travel + Leisure has shortlisted 25 of the continent’s most beautiful places, and the world-famous Keukenhof has made the cut.
Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is famous for its spring tulip festival, but there are also countless other colorful flowers to be found, such as daffodils, orchids, roses, and much more. There are as many as 32 hectares of flowers to admire in the gardens, and 15 km of walking paths to guide you through them. To put that in other words: they claim to plant more than 7 million bulbs every year!

It’s the perfect spot for a spring photo shoot, with stunning backdrops of flower displays, sparkling ponds, and plenty of sculptures created by local and international artists.
The mention in Travel + Leisure comes at just the right time, as Keukenhof’s famous Tulip Festivalhas just begun. The season started last Thursday (March 23) and ends on Sunday, May 14—and you can buy your tickets here. The gardens are just a short metro ride from downtown Amsterdam—and don’t worry, since the bulbs are planted in phases, there’s never a bad day to see the flowers during the festival.
