The perfect spring stroll

Along the Singel, a canal that once served as a protective moat around medieval Amsterdam, the market stretches between Muntplein and Koningsplein. Today, the Singel forms the innermost canal of Amsterdam’s canal belt, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a result, the Flower Market is not only a feast for the senses but also an atmospheric place with a rich history. Instead of floating boats, the market now rests on fixed pontoons with glass roofs in a greenhouse style. Rain or shine, it’s always a good time to stop by.
During your visit, you’ll find stalls filled with tulips, daffodils, roses, and other seasonal flowers, many of which are grown in Dutch greenhouses and available year-round. You’ll also find a colorful selection of flower bulbs, potted plants, seeds, and gardening sets that are perfect to take home. And it’s not just about flowers: there are also stalls selling Dutch cheese, wooden clogs, and souvenirs to round out your visit.
The Flower Market is much more than just a market: it’s a slice of Amsterdam’s history with a colorful twist. It’s a wonderful spot for a relaxing spring stroll, a spontaneous bouquet, or simply to snap a few colorful photos.
