Welcome to Safaripark Beekse Bergen! What began in 1968 as a daring lion park where visitors couldn’t believe their eyes has since grown into a massive wilderness area spanning no less than 120 hectares.
Here you won’t find cramped enclosures or fences, but rather vast open plains where wild animals rule the roost. With more than a million visitors a year, this is truly the wildest destination in the Benelux.
But what really makes this Brabant savanna so magical?
Face to face with the entire Big Five and over 100 other animal species

At Safaripark Beekse Bergen, you’ll come face to face with the iconic inhabitants of the African savanna. This is one of the few places in Europe where you can spot the entire Big Five in a single day: the elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo.
In addition to these impressive giants, over 100 other animal species live in the park. Think of grazing zebras, chimpanzees roaming about, and groups of curious animals. Because the park is enormous, all the animals have plenty of space to live in large groups. This creates a unique experience that comes very close to a real Tanzanian safari.
Four ways to explore the savanna

Visitors are literally surrounded by wild animals here. On the unpaved roads of the car safari , a giraffe might sometimes block the route, or a herd of zebras might pass right by the car doors. Those who prefer to leave their car keys behind can explore the landscape on foot. The hiking trails run right past the predators’ enclosures, separated only by natural barriers.
In addition, a large safari boat cuts straight through the water past bathing elephants on the banks. For those who’d rather not navigate themselves, large buses drive across the savanna with a ranger at the helm. Because of this constant alternation between land and water, the perspective on the wild animals is constantly changing.
Sleeping in the wildlife park: the unique experience of a night on safari

As soon as the day visitors leave the park at the end of the afternoon, tranquility returns to the savanna. As the sun sinks behind the trees, herds of zebras and rhinos pass right by the verandas of the lodges. In the pitch dark, the next intense experience follows: the deep, rumbling roar of the lions echoing through the night, guaranteed to give you goosebumps.
The real surprise awaits the next morning when you wake up. You slide open the curtains in your room and suddenly find yourself face to face with a curious giraffe nibbling on the leaves next to your terrace. It’s the ultimate wilderness experience—but right from your own bed.
