Butcher’s Tears
From a family heritage of Swedish farm brewers and trained by the masters of ale and porter in England, Butcher’s Tears ended up in the Netherlands to create their own brewery! Talk about a true European tale. Besides, Butcher’s Tears makes distinctive beers using uncommon artisanal techniques (they even cultivate their own yeast!) that progress beyond fashion and convention. The beers really are as inventive as they are delicious. Try the Monster Soup or the Lipreader. Yum.

Poesiat & Kater
This charming brewery is located in a beautiful historic building and it is named after Bart Poesiat & Klaas Kater, the legendary friends and colleagues who both worked at the historic ‘van Vollenhoven Brouwerij De Gekroonde Valk’, the largest brewery of The Netherlands in the early 1900s. Both worked tirelessly to improve workers’ rights in Amsterdam and beyond, and this is a great tribute to them! The beers are delicious and Poesiar & Kater also has a waterside terrace where you can not only enjoy your drink, but also lunch, brunch or dinner.
