We all need a holiday from time to time but flying from Schiphol Airport where there are reports of canceled flights seems less appealing every day. Moreover, with the government planning to increase flight tax all flights from the Netherlands are soon to increase in price, so what’s the alternative to air travel?
Well, you might think of using the train to reach other cities in the Netherlands but recently more and more night trains have begun connecting Amsterdam with destinations across Europe. The latest of these trains is the Amsterdam to Barcelona night train which is expected to launch on December 10, 2023.
This new Amsterdam to Barcelona night train service is being created by European Sleeper. The company has already announced a new night train to Prague and is looking to offer more and more services to European cities. European Sleeper is even looking at the possibility of working with Sunweb to offer night trains to the Alps and coastal France straight from Amsterdam.
You can’t book tickets for either of these services yet but you could start planning to spend Christmas of 2023 in Barcelona! Rail travel is more eco-friendly than air travel and it’s bound to be more comfortable too. Plus, you can look out of the window as you pass through different European countries. If you’re planning to head to Barcelona then make sure you check out Barcelona Secreta, where you’ll find the best things to do in the city.
