Norway is a stunning country, full of incredible sights and experiences. It has incredible natural features like stunning mountains, breathtaking fjords, and the chance to see the northern lights, and now it’s more accessible to Amsterdammers than ever before with the launch of a new ferry route.
The ferry will connect Eemshaven in Groningen to the gorgeous Kristiansand, and you can even bring your car onboard with you if you fancy a bit of a road trip. The ferry can accommodate 1,500 passengers and a total of 350 and there’s plenty onboard to keep you entertained.
Of course, there are restaurants and bars but in true Scandi fashion, there will also be a sauna. This new route comes from Holland Norway Lines and it will take 18 hours on board to reach Norway. However, we’d be spending most of that in the sauna and hot tub.
You can catch it on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 3 pm and reach Norway at 9 am, just in time to grab some breakfast in lovely Kristiansand. Then, when you want to head back to the Netherlands you can hop back on the ferry at 3 pm on a Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday.
The journey costs €75 each way per person, and €230 if you have a car with you. So, it’s not that expensive in the grand scheme of things, especially with flight tax tripling next year in the Netherlands.
