Pack your bags and get ready to go! A new train service will soon allow you to travel to the Brussels-Midi station in 45 minutes less that usual. This very anticipated Intercity New Generation (ICNG) service will be launched at the end of this year by the Dutch (NS) and Belgian (SNCB) railway operators.
Brussels: The Perfect Week End Getaway
Travelling by train is always exciting. You just hop in, sit down, look at the view and get off in a completely different place, in a matter of hours. With this new service, there will be 32 trains between the Netherlands and Belgium per day, instead of 16. If we add the Eurostar trains to this number, it jumps to 47 trains a day between the two countries! However, this new service is not joking when it promotes its high speed, because we’re talking about 200km per hour. This means that it will only take about 2h for passengers to get to Brussels from Amsterdam. (Just enough time for a nice nap!)
This new intercity train to the Belgian capital will start off at Amsterdam-Zuid (and not Amsterdam Centraal) and will only stop at Schiphol, Rotterdam-Central and Antwerp-Central before its final destination, Brussels.
Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to visit the European capital, a lively city with tons of things to do and amazing restaurants!
