Since Wednesday, Westerpark is one giant open-air kitchen party. Indeed, from 28 May to 1 June 2025, Rolling Kitchens (Rollende Keukens) returns for its 17th edition—serving up a smorgasbord of international street food, craft drinks, and live music. It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s basically Amsterdam’s tastiest long weekend.
Foodie Heaven on Wheels
Every spring, over 80 food trucks from across the Netherlands and beyond park up in Westerpark to serve everything from melanzane alla parmigiana to smoky paella and legendary pomburgers. It’s a feast of flavors, smells, and sights—each kitchen cart uniquely styled and run by passionate cooks, artists, and families (some of whom will literally serve your food and play your music). Add in fine wines, special brews, and friendly vibes, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate food-lovers’ paradise.
Music, No Map, Just Vibes
Forget line-ups and timetables. At Rolling Kitchens, the music is part of the magic—and it finds you. Across five days, over 100 live performances pop up on various stages throughout the park, from soulful reggae to surf rock, classical quartets to hip-hop crews. It’s a mini music festival hidden in a food fest, and it’s all curated by local talent, making the vibe equal parts spontaneous and homegrown.
Free, Friendly, and Full of Soul
Born in 2008 as a neighborhood project by five Amsterdam families, Rolling Kitchens has grown into a beloved citywide tradition. But it’s stayed true to its roots—community-led, family-run, and completely free to enter. Come by bike, bus or on foot! Also, bring your old festival cup, and get ready to wander, taste, dance, and live lots of surprises. Just don’t expect a schedule—everything here rolls with the moment!
