The plan has been given the green light at the Hague.
Wednesday (May 19) will see significant changes to pandemic restrictions in the Netherlands and Amsterdammers can return to some semblance of normality once more.
Theme parks, zoos and museums will open once more, which will be fantastic on rainy days in Amsterdam when hanging out outside doesn’t sound all too appealing.
Additionally, terraces will be able to open for breakfast and dinner, although indoor dining will not be allowed yet. These changes come as cases of covid-19 across the country are beginning to decrease significantly, which is fantastic news for us all.
Corona Minister De Jonge said that the drop in cases is largely due to vaccinations and that we are likely to see further easing of restrictions in 3 weeks.
However, this easing will only happen if cases of Covid-19 continue to drop consistently and significantly, so we will have to wait and see what will come next for the country. You can keep up to date with the current restrictions on the government website.
