On Monday thirteen restaurants in the Netherlands gained a Michelin star, bringing the total of Michelin star restaurants in the Netherlands to a whopping 118. Some gained additional stars and others gained their first Michelin stars, with plenty of these amazing restaurants based in Amsterdam.

Flore was the only one-star restaurant to gain a star in Amsterdam this year, bringing the total to two stars, and it’s now considered ‘worthy of a detour’, according to the Michelin guide. All in all, there are now 23 Michelin star restaurants in Amsterdam but eight restaurants lost their stars this year. There are no three-star restaurants in the city, but it’s only a matter of time!
