Orange fever is slowly but surely starting to take hold again in the capital. Nothing beats the feeling of a cold beer in your hand, surrounded by hundreds of fans while you watch the match on a big screen.
With the Dutch national team’s first group match on June 14, there’s little time left to find a prime spot, so we’ve listed our favorite places in Amsterdam to cheer on the Oranje together.
Pllek

Across the IJ, you’ll be sitting like a king on the city beach at the NDSM shipyard. Pllek will show all of the Dutch national team’s matches on a giant screen, indoors or outdoors. Admission is completely free, and no reservations are required. There’s plenty of room for neighbors, friends, and entire families. A big bonus: they will be showing the late-night match against Tunisia at 1:00 a.m.
Pacific Amsterdam
At Pacific on the Westergasterrein, you can watch the Oranje right on the water. Big screens show all the action, while DJs provide the beats between halves. Admission is free. The best part is that they’ll also be showing the late-night showdown against Tunisia at 1:00 a.m., so you can hang out with your friends for a long time.
Foodhallen
In the Central Hall of the Foodhallen in Oud-West, you can watch the Oranje on a big screen amidst the bustling Amsterdammers. No reservations are needed, and you can just walk right in. Ideal for groups of friends who can’t decide where to go, because with 21 different food stands and three bars, there’s something delicious for every fan.
Cafe Brecht

Want to experience the excitement without getting lost in a raucous crowd? Amid the Berlin flea market furniture and board games at Café Brecht, you can relax and settle in to watch the match on the big screen. Enjoy a German craft beer in peace. The bar closes around midnight, so you’ll have to look elsewhere for the late-night match against Tunisia.
Hannekes Boom
Another Amsterdam classic by the water where you don’t need a reservation. At Hannekes Boom, screens are literally everywhere—on the terrace, under the big tent, and inside. Find a spot at the picnic tables and cheer on the Dutch national team. This is also the perfect spot for the late match against Tunisia.
Café Kiebêrt
At Kiebêrt, they’re pulling out all the stops for the fans again this tournament. With three large screens inside, two outside, and crowd barriers on Marathonweg, it’s going to be a real neighborhood party. They’ve even set up an outdoor bar on the bridge over the Noorder Amstelkanaal. Be sure to arrive on time, though, because the outdoor bar will remain closed for the late-night matches.
Waterfront
On the edge of downtown, right below the parking garage on Marnixstraat, you’ll find the always bustling Waterkant. On the huge terrace by the water, they go all out for the Oranje matches. Order an ice-cold Parbo beer and a Surinamese snack, and enjoy the laid-back, tropical soccer vibe. You can’t make reservations in advance for the Dutch national team’s matches , so be sure to arrive early!
Café La Rosa

You really can’t get any more North than this. Café La Rosa is a true traditional pub on Buikslotermeerplein with a wonderful Amsterdam atmosphere. During the World Cup, the big screen is on for the Oranje matches. After the final whistle, the party really gets going here, because live Dutch-language singers and karaoke are a regular feature. Ideal for those who love an authentic and down-to-earth soccer vibe.
Café Schinkelhaven
This eatery at the southern tip of Vondelpark is known for its exuberant atmosphere during Oranje matches. Here, you can watch soccer on a big screen while enjoying craft beers and burgers. Schinkelhaven is taking full advantage of extended opening hours. Although the terrace has to close at night, the inside promises to be one big party.
Café Kuijper
This former butcher shop has long been considered one of the coziest, warm-toned pubs in Oost. You can watch the Oranje matches here in a cozy setting. Because the café is located in a densely populated neighborhood, they strictly adhere to the rules, but it’s sure to be a big soccer party on Linnaeusstraat anyway. Get there early to secure a good spot.
