Pack your bags and get ready to go! Thanks to a new train service , you’ll soon be able to travel to Brussels-South station in 45 minutes less than usual. This long-awaited Intercity New Generation (ICNG) service will be launched at the end of this year by the Dutch (NS) and Belgian (SNCB) railway companies.

Brussels: the perfect weekend getaway
Traveling by train is always exciting. You just hop on, sit back, enjoy the view, and step off in a completely different place within a few hours. With this new service, 32 trains will run daily between the Netherlands and Belgium, instead of 16. If we add the Eurostar trains to this, the total comes to 47 trains per day between the two countries! However, this new service isn’t kidding around when it promotes its high speed, because we’re talking about 200 km per hour. This means it takes passengers only about 2 hours to get from Amsterdam to Brussels. (Just enough time for a nice nap!)
This new intercity train to the Belgian capital departs from Amsterdam-Zuid (not Amsterdam Centraal) and stops only at Schiphol, Rotterdam Centraal, and Antwerp-Centraal before reaching its final destination, Brussels.
Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to visit the European capital, a vibrant city with so much to do and fantastic restaurants!
