It’s hard to imagine life without pasta, because you see it everywhere. From Amsterdam to Alaska, you’ll find this delicious, carb-rich Italian staple, and people just can’t get enough of it. You don’t have to travel to Italy to taste excellent pasta, and Tozi in Amsterdam certainly proves that.
The tonnarelli dish is meant to be shared, but I’m not sharing!
At Tozi, you’ll find the most decadent pasta dishes alongside lighter, fresher-tasting options. But there’s one in particular that we absolutely love. Order the tonnarelli “cacio e pepe,” and suddenly a whole wheel of pecorino cheese appears next to your table. Then your server scoops in delicious tonnarelli pasta, which is later seasoned with delicious black pepper.
It’s a dream come true. The hot pasta melts the pecorino, and because it’s served in an actual wheel of cheese, it’s literally covered in cheese. They don’t skimp on the cheese here, and the result is heavenly. It’s meant to be shared, likely because it’s literally just dairy, carbs, and herbs—and therefore incredibly rich. This makes it absolutely perfect for a dinner with friends.
The drinks are delicious too!
So what can you wash all this down with? Well, there’s a pretty large selection of quality Italian wines that you’ll love. You can order 12 of them by the glass, so you can try more than one. There are also a few signature cocktails to choose from, such as the classic Aperol Spritz, or something like the cucumber and basil martini, made with gin infused with cucumber and basil, vermouth, Mancino Bianco, and lime juice.
Whatever you choose to eat here, it will be delicious. Every dish, from the eggplant parmigiana to the tuna tartare with fresh peaches and lime dressing, is prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. You can reserve a table via the website, where you can also read the full, mouthwatering menu.
