Sometimes you just want to take a nice photo and post it on Instagram, but with the huge number of accounts vying for attention, those photos really need to stand out to get noticed. People have been taking photos of themselves at what we’d now call “Instagrammable spots” since the invention of photography, so it’s nothing new. We just use social media now to share those photos instead of gathering in the living room to flip through photo albums. So if you’re looking for a few exciting places to have fun and take some eye-catching photos, look no further.
1. Flower Market
The Flower Market is the only floating flower market in the world, and it’s incredibly photogenic, especially in the spring when the market comes alive with thousands of beautiful flowers. You don’t need to create a backdrop or style anything; just take some photos and they’re guaranteed to look amazing.
2. Cat Gallery
The Cat Cabinet literally consists of room after room filled with paintings of cats, and who doesn’t love cats? It’s also very elegant and beautifully decorated, making it one of the most Instagrammable spots in Amsterdam. Oh, and there are real cats wandering around everywhere, too. You can read more about it on the website.
3. Hortus Botanicus
Amsterdam’s botanical gardens are breathtakingly beautiful and are open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so we can all take gorgeous photos surrounded by greenery. Check out the website to learn more about the Hortus.
4. Moco Museum
This place is packed with thought-provoking artworks and beautiful decorative elements. Instagrammers flock here to marvel at the unique art and take selfies in an otherworldly setting. Check out the website to book your visit.
5. Amsterdamse Bos
In the spring, this is probably the most beautiful of all Instagrammable spots in Amsterdam. There are 400 cherry blossom trees that look phenomenal when in bloom, and as soon as the blossoms appear, Instagram is flooded with stunning photos of them.
6. Damrak
These characteristic, crooked little houses are a favorite among Instagrammers because they are so symbolic of Amsterdam. If you head to the Damrak, you’ll find this beautiful, photogenic spot along the canal.
7. Magere Brug
In the evening, the Magere Brug comes to life with hundreds of tiny lights, creating an incredibly romantic scene. That’s why so many Instagrammers come here to take romantic photos with their partners, especially in winter when the snow and ice reflect the lights in the most beautiful way.
8. Lomanstraat
Over time, these giant trees on Lomanstraat have grown toward each other, forming a beautiful, natural arch that’s perfect for strolling under. We’re obsessed with the photos of this spot in winter, but during the summer months, it’s also beautifully green and leafy. These gorgeous spots aren’t just Instagrammable—they’re also incredibly colorful and inspiring. You don’t have to go there just to take photos; a visit to any of these places is sure to give your mood a boost.
