The listening bar trend has become an integral part of Amsterdam, but on Bilderdijkstraat, dubble takes a slightly different approach . While most audiophile spots don’t open until late at night, this atmospheric listening café is in full swing during the day.
It has become a cozy living room where you can pop in for a quick espresso, work quietly on your laptop with high-quality ambient sound in the background, or linger at the end of the afternoon for a nice glass of wine.
The design behind the sound: acoustics meets interior design

Anyone stepping inside on Bilderdijkstraat immediately notices the calm, clear acoustics. The space features a balanced soundscape where you can relax while talking or working. This is the result of a well-thought-out acoustic plan by Sonores Acoustics.
The interior design complements this seamlessly. Studio Toni Javor designed the custom woodwork that creates ambiance and enhances the sound, while local experts Kantarion Sound, POS, and JW Sound developed the sound system.
Specialty coffee, food, wine, and Saturday DJ sets

A high-quality listening experience goes hand in hand with attention to the menu. Fresh espresso beans from Andy Roasters are ground on the grinder, complemented by refined filter coffees from KAF Amsterdam. The rhythm of the café changes throughout the day. Those who walk in later in the afternoon effortlessly switch to a good glass of wine with snacks to share.
On Saturdays , local DJs take their places behind the turntables for special vinyl sets. Think carefully curated soul, soothing ambient, and rare records. The music is played at a volume that leaves just enough room for a good conversation.
