In early 2018, Quote 500 billionaire and Mollie founder Adriaan Mol purchased part of the top floor of the Pontsteiger from hospitality magnate Won Yip for €4.2 million. The shell apartment was located in the spectacular sky bridge of the 90-meter-tall building. Mol, however, never lived there himself: immediately after the purchase, he began a years-long effort to resell the property at a profit of millions.
Between 2019 and now, the penthouse has regularly appeared on Funda for prices ranging from 6 to 9 million euros. An attempt to rent it out in 2023 also failed, mainly because the apartment remained a bare, concrete shell all that time. Now Mol is taking a radically different approach: after a thorough transformation, the penthouse is once again on the market for €7.35 million, this time fully furnished with designer furniture and art.
A complete transformation on the 25th floor

For years, the penthouse on Pontsteiger remained a stark, concrete shell that no buyer wanted to take on. To break that deadlock, Adriaan Mol enlisted the help of interior design studio Two O Five. The designers were given free rein to completely reimagine the abandoned 25th floor.
Centered around a central patio with high-gloss lacquered wooden wall panels, a living room has been created featuring raised ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the IJ River and the historic city center. A southwest-facing loggia draws light deep into the apartment.
But the real transformation isn’t limited to the walls: behind the sliding doors lies an interior that resembles a private art gallery more than a typical home.
Top Italian design and art by Jasper Krabbé

Walking through the living room, you immediately come upon an open-concept kitchen by the Italian brand Arclinea, fully equipped with Gaggenau appliances and a separate coffee pantry. Behind double glass doors lies a men’s lounge featuring a custom-built bookcase and a seamlessly concealed cocktail bar.
The biggest eye-catcher, however, hangs on the walls: Dutch artist Jasper Krabbé curated an exclusive art collection specifically for these spaces. The north wing features three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, including a master bedroom with a freestanding Boffi bathtub. A private fitness room and a Finnish sauna complete the hotel-like experience. But anyone moving in here doesn’t even need to bring a single moving box.
A turnkey home for 7.35 million euros

The new asking price of €7.35 million, listed by real estate agent Carla van den Brink, covers more than just the square meters. The buyer walks into a so-called “turnkey” concept where absolutely everything is included. From the vintage furniture and Krabbé paintings to the cookware, the bed linens, and even the teaspoons in the kitchen drawers: whoever takes the plunge need only bring a suitcase of clothes.
If Adriaan Mol manages to meet the asking price, he’ll pocket a profit of over €3.15 million after seven years of inactivity. There is, however, one detail for the quick decision-maker: the two covered parking spaces beneath the complex are not included in the purchase price and cost an additional €75,000 each.
