The sun is finally shining in Amsterdam, and isn’t it just wonderful? The canals were packed with people enjoying the weather this weekend, and we saw temperatures as high as 30 degrees in Amsterdam!
As soon as the sun shines, Amsterdammers come out of their homes as if they’ve never seen the sun before, and to be honest, we don’t see it that often. Weeronline is forecasting a high of 28 degrees in Amsterdam this weekend, but other weather forecasters disagree.
Weather.com forecasts a high of 29 degrees, and others are even predicting 30 degrees. So whichever forecast is correct, it looks like we can expect a few warm days this week after a long, cold winter and a rather chilly start to spring.
The first summer day of the year is when the temperature in De Bilt, where the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute is located, reaches at least 25 degrees, and it looks like that could happen this weekend. From now on, it will only get warmer.
The temperature will rise to 21 degrees tomorrow (Wednesday), but it will remain somewhat cloudy. The clouds are expected to linger, but on Thursday it could reach 23 degrees and on Friday even a balmy 27 degrees, when the clouds should clear up.
The clouds will return on Saturday, but it could very well be the warmest day so far, with temperatures reaching 28–30 degrees! The warm weather will stick around after that, but forecasters are predicting rain, so make sure to put away your barbecue on Friday evening and enjoy the beautiful weather to the fullest while you still can!
