6 Of The Best Boozy Brunch Spots To Try In Amsterdam

Because what else are weekends for?

After a long, hard week at work, we like to make the most of the weekends, and for us, that means indulging in boozy brunches. Whether it’s fluffy waffles, crispy chicken, or creamy eggs Benedict, it all tastes even better washed down with a bloody Mary or two, or perhaps a mimosa. Boozy brunches are great for catching up with friends and family, and there are plenty of places in Amsterdam where the booze and good food flows freely at brunch time. Here are our stand-out favourites:

1. Staring At Jacob

šŸ“Jacob Van Lennepkade 215, 1054 ZP

This place had to go on the list because there’s so much deliciousness on the menu that we could eat here every day and never get bored. There’s something for everyone, from tasty chicken and waffles, to a belly-busting vegan fry-up, and plenty of cocktails to boot, including mimosas and Bloody Mary pitchers. You can reserve a table on the website.

2. G’s Brunch Boat

šŸ“Keizersgracht 177, 1016 DR

You guessed it – it’s brunch on a boat! G’s Brunch Boat runs tours along the canal, serving mouthwateringly delicious food. On the menu are some twists on classics, such as poached eggs, served on fried chicken with hollandaise sauce, and French toast made with Jewish challah bread. You can even start the meal with some oysters and wash it down with one of the many bloody mary cocktail varieties on offer. To reserve a table, visit the website.

3. The Breakfast Club

šŸ“Changiweg 110, 1043 DZ

šŸ“Gustav Mahlerplein 114, 1082 MA

šŸ“Haarlemmerplein 31, 1013 HR

šŸ“Bellamystraat 2-H, 1053 BL

šŸ“Wibautstraat 56, 1091 GN

The Breakfast Club has locations all over the city and every location serves all-day breakfast. From full-English breakfasts to American-style pancakes and huevos rancheros, there are options for everyone here and you can wash it all down with a pear bellini, a refreshing screwdriver, or another of their tasty cocktails. You can’t reserve tables here but you can read the menu on the website.

4. Bakers and RoastersĀ

šŸ“Kadijksplein 16, 1018 AC

šŸ“Eerste Jacob van Campenstraat 54, 1072 BH

Bakers and Roasters describes itself as ‘a New Zealand style cafe served with a heavy dose of Brazil’, and they serve tasty breakfasts inspire by both countries. Their brunch menu is huge, with plenty of options for everyone. The team admits to being more expensive than a budget cafe but they are committed to buying their products from ethical sources. So, if you’d rather have bacon from a happy pig then you might not mind paying a few extra euros. Plus, there are plenty of cocktail varieties on offer, from rhubarb daiquiris to delicious espresso martinis. You can reserve a table on the website.

5. CT Coffee & Coconuts

šŸ“Ceintuurbaan 282-284, 1072 GK

If you had to cancel a holiday in the sun this year, head to Coffee & Coconuts for a taste of that missing sunshine. Young coconuts, fresh juice, and coffee are available all day. You can also, of course, enjoy a tasty brunch here with lots of organic ingredients and plenty of tasty cocktails, like their tropical mimosa. Most of the food is vegan, vegetarian, and/or gluten-free, so there are loads of options for different dietary needs and you can book a table on the website.Ā

6. Box Sociaal

At Box Sociaal there are so many brunch options that you’ll just keep coming back to try another… and another. From banoffee pancakes to Thai-spiced haddock scotch eggs, these breakfasts are full of flavour and there’s plenty of booze to wash it all down with. What better way to start the day off than with a stroopwafel espresso martini? You can book a table on the website.
