The Vondelpark will take on a distinctly French flair this weekend. From Friday, November 6, through Sunday, November 8, ‘t Blauwe Theehuis will transform into an intimate Parisian bistro, where Le French Café will set up shop for three days, serving classic dishes and wines.
Especially for this temporary pop-up, the kitchen is serving a set three-course menu for €39.50 per person. A remarkably reasonable price for the city: at the permanent locations in East and West, their famous Menu du Chef costs €47.50.
A French brasserie in a historic location

With two permanent locations on Javastraat and Admiraal de Ruijterweg, Le French Café has been serving classic bistro dishes in Amsterdam for years. This weekend, that concept is temporarily moving to Vondelpark. For three days, 't Blauwe Theehuis will transform into Le Petit French Café.
The famous round tea dome serves as the backdrop for an unpretentious French brasserie. Visitors pull up a chair for a set three-course menu with paired wines, right in the middle of the park’s trees. Anyone looking to grab a bite after an autumn walk will find an inviting spot here with classics on the menu and a relaxed atmosphere.
The menu: a three-course dinner for €39.50

Exactly what the kitchen team will be serving during the pop-up remains a secret for now. What is certain, however, is that guests will be served a set three-course menu for €39.50 per person. Anyone familiar with the permanent locations knows that the regular Menu du Chef normally costs €47.50, making this temporary park edition an attractive value.
Given the brasserie’s signature style, the focus is expected to be on traditional fall dishes and French comfort food. Think of classics like confit de canard or fall vegetables with rich sauces. In addition, the team serves high-quality French wines that complement the seasonal nature of the menu.
Make a reservation at Le Petit French Café

The pop-up at ‘t Blauwe Theehuis runs from Friday, November 6, through Sunday, November 8, 2026. On Friday evening, the team kicks things off with dinner, for which only a few spots remain available on the reservation system. Those who want to dine in the Vondelpark during the day can come for lunch on both Saturday and Sunday, followed by the evening service.
Due to the intimate setting of the round tea dome, advance reservations are required (with a deposit of €10 per guest). Reservations are made directly through the Le French Café website. Because of the affordable three-course menu priced at €39.50, tables fill up quickly, so booking early is essential to avoid missing out.
