Amsterdam has thrown parties in warehouses, former churches and even a floating crane — but this might be its boldest venue yet. This dancefloor will be doing 100km/h. Yes, someone turned the Dutch rail network into a nightclub.
The Train That Turns Into a Nightclub
On Thursday 23 October, 400 ravers will gather not in a queue but on Platform Whatever at Amsterdam Centraal. The 50:HERTZ Club Train — normally a sensible form of transport — will transform into a seven-carriage nightclub and take off for a four-hour joyride through the Dutch night. Each carriage offers a different mood: disco classics with live brass, house heaters with turbo energy, and a so-called “chill zone” that will absolutely not stay calm. Windows become strobes. Passing villages become confused spectators.
A Line-up Built For Constant Motion
The soundtrack leaves zero room for sitting down. Disco legend Barbara Tucker and Chicago house hero Stacy Kidd will hold down the heritage angle, flanked by modern-day groove maniacs like Jafunk, Block & Crown, Crystal Touch and the brilliantly named Bustin’ Loose — founder of London collective The Disco Express, the mad geniuses behind this mobile fantasy.
Not Just A Rave: A Moving Community

This isn’t just another ADE cash grab. The Disco Express is known for doing things the warm, unpretentious way — live musicians, hands-in-the-air energy and absolutely no VIP snobbery. The train format forces everyone into instant camaraderie: no smokers’ exits, no dark corners, just shared movement. When it finally rolls back into Amsterdam Centraal, passengers won’t just disembark — they’ll float.
