Get your hats, gloves and scarves ready as snow is set to fall tonight across the Netherlands, including Amsterdam. More or less all weather forecasts point to a frosty evening with dashes of the white stuff.
Weeronline points to a wet afternoon with a gradual shift, bringing a centimetre or two of snow in Amsterdam, according to Accuweather.
There could be snow from 10 pm tonight onwards and into tomorrow too, with intermittent rain. Unfortunately, it’s not supposed to be snowman-making weather with only a little covering.
However, cold temperatures bring ice and there’s set to be plenty of that around. Be careful if you’re out on the roads tonight and tomorrow because conditions will be slippery.
The snow is set to last until 6 pm tomorrow and there is currently a yellow warning for snow and ice in the region. There’s also a chance that we could see up to four centimetres of snow on Friday.
Get your cameras at the ready, if you’re into that kinda thing, because tonight will be the night to capture some beautiful photos. That’s before rain inevitably turns it all into sludge!
On Saturday the weather is supposed to be cloudy (typical) and on Sunday there will be periods of sunshine. So, we can’t expect the snow to last. Unfortunately, it won’t be a repeat of that lovely thick snow we had a couple of years ago.
