Eating out at a restaurant should be an experience, especially if it’s for a special occasion. A good restaurant serves tasty food, but it’s even better if your surroundings are as exciting as the dishes. There are plenty of places in Amsterdam that are Instagrammable, but not all of them could be called beautiful restaurants. However, the places on this list are truly stunning.
1. The Living Room By Bodon
šApollolaan 2, 1077 BA
This plush, sleek restaurant combines all the charm of a French brasserie with splashes of more tropical decor such as huge metal palm trees that take you further South so warmer climes. It’s comfy and it’s classy.
2. Happy Happy Joy Joy (Downtown)
šCeintuurbaan 256, 1072 GH
All of Happy Happy Joy Joy’s four locations in Amsterdam are beautiful, but to us the downtown location is the most beautiful. Different rooms have a different colour scheme but the main dining room is bathed in red light with walls covered in stunning posters and gorgeous bamboo parasols hanging from the ceiling.
3. The Duchess
šSpuistraat 172, 1012 VT
Ths Duchess is super-fancy, offering what it calls ‘London hospitality alongside Viennese grandeur.’ If you want a really pretty high tea then this is the place to go because the food is just as beautiful as the decor.
4. Cafe AMOI
šKinkerstraat 53A, 1053 DE
Who doesn’t like Indonesian food? Spicy, delicious dishes pair with vibrant, classy decor and the comfiest seats. Cafe AMOI has to be one of the most beautiful Indonesian restaurants in the city, and there are many!
5. De Kop van Oost
šZeeburgerpad 1, 1018 AH
The interior of the restaurant is beautiful but it’s nothing compared to the incredible views of the water. On an evening you can see the starts through the glass panelling on the ceiling and it’s truly magical.
6. Restaurant Rouhi
šSpui 10, 1012 XG
You’ll find Restaurant Rouhi on the first floor of The House Of Rituals. It’s one of those places that’s instantly calming, with laid back, yet intricate decor. In summer you can enjoy the gorgeous terrace, too.
7. Cantine De Caron
šPazzanistraat 8, 1014 DB
Not everyone likes copper pans as much as me, and I accept that, but they’re not the only reason behind why I think Cantine De Caron is so pretty. It’s a former gas factory and that doesn’t sound too pretty either but the high ceilings make it pretty spectacular. Plus, the terrace is large, open and airy too.
8. Lion Noir
šReguliersdwarsstraat 28, 1017 BM
The rich, green tones at Lion Noir bring a fantastic, kind of sci-fi quality to it. There’s something otherworldly and yet cosy about the deco that makes you want to stay.
