The stunning Het Scheepvaartmuseum holds 500 years of maritime history, mapping the powerful role that the Netherlands has always played in naval trade, including the Dutch Golden Age, when the country was the envy of all of Europe.
Packed full of history, this place really is extraordinary, not least due to the beautiful architecture. As visitors walk into the room, ready for a Candlelight Concert their eyes are immediately drawn to the breathtaking glass ceiling.
As hundreds of candles flicker in and the musicians begin to play, the sky sits visible overhead, making the performance even more powerful and soul-stirring. There are four Candlelight Concerts coming to Het Scheepvaartmuseum soon and you won’t want to miss any of them, that’s for sure!
