On Friday, November 6, Amsterdam-Noord will gain a massive culinary gathering spot. On the Gedempt Hamerkanaal, at the familiar location of the former Restaurant Stork, Kade Noord will officially open its doors.
Behind the initiative are established Amsterdam hospitality names, known for hotspots like Helling7, REM, and Mata Hari. In the 1,000-square-meter industrial warehouse, you’ll soon find fifteen beer taps and five in-house kitchens—but what exactly can you sample there starting this weekend?
Five kitchens under one roof
At Food Yard Kade Noord, it’s all about accessible, high-quality dining. The concept brings together five full-service kitchens under one industrial roof, making it just as easy to turn a quick bite into a full evening of dining by the water.
The menu offers something for everyone: from Bon Burger Bar’s crispy, dry-aged smash burgers to Dime Slice’s generous pizza slices. At Tango Taco’s, it’s all about bold Mexican flavors, while the Asian stand serves up fresh street food dishes. Looking for the perfect snack to pair with a craft beer? Then start with the selection at Kaasbar, featuring a wide variety of cheeses and charcuterie.
15 beer taps and a view of the IJ
In addition to the food, the drink menu takes center stage in the industrial hall. Kade Noord features a large bar with fifteen beer taps, offering a rotating selection ranging from lagers to craft beers, complemented by wines and non-alcoholic options.
The layout is perfect for a long after-dinner drink. Thanks to its location on the waterfront, you have a direct view of the IJ River from inside the warehouse. This means the former factory hall serves not only as a quick dining spot but also as a full-fledged weekend destination for drinks.
