Along the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam, you’ll find the most spectacular buildings , not least the magnificent Felix Meritis, where a candlelit concert dedicated to Frank Sinatra will soon take place. This neoclassical building towers high above the surrounding buildings and was founded in 1776 as a meeting place for a new society. This new society placed great value on modern thinking, as the Enlightenment swept through Europe and a more rational, scientific way of thinking flourished.
It would be an understatement to say that Felix Meritis is an iconic and inspiring building in Amsterdam, and now something spectacular is taking place there. The Candlelight Concerts in Amsterdam are an absolute hit, featuring candlelit performances of works by artists such as Tchaikovsky, ABBA, and now even Frank Sinatra!
This incredible native of New Jersey became a household name around the world in the 1950s, and his popularity has never waned. His songs combined influences from jazz, blues, folk, and popular music into a truly unique sound. You probably know him from songs like “My Way,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” and “New York, New York,” which you can enjoy by candlelight on Monday, June 20, at Felix Meritis.

This will be the first Candlelight Concert at Felix Meritis, and it promises to be spectacular. The Hydra String Quartet will perform a 60-minute selection of Sinatra’s most famous songs, surrounded by beautiful, flickering candles. It’s the perfect match for the romance of Sinatra’s music.
If you can’t make it to the 7:00 PM concert, don’t worry—there’s another concert later that evening at 9:00 PM. What a wonderful way to spend the evening! Tickets are on sale now, so be sure to get yours here!
