Singles are ready to make up for lost time.
Unsurprisingly (thanks, Covid) 2020 was a tough year for dating. In fact, the majority of singles in Amsterdam are unhappy with their love life, and the curfew has only made dating more difficult. In a recent survey, dating app Inner Circle revealed that over 60% of single Amsterdammers find being stuck at home after curfew makes them feel more isolated, and we’re not surprised.
BUT it’s not all doom and gloom. The vaccine rollout signals light at the end of the tunnel and people are beginning to get excited about kickstarting their love lives in 2021…
Despite all the restrictions, 85% of singles say that they’re excited and hopeful about dating this year. It seems that the pandemic has also kicked casual dating to the curb for good – turns out everyone wants to lock it down post-lockdown with 73% of single people looking for a serious relationship in 2021. The question is – how do singles date seriously whilst locked down in their houses? Well, the answer lies in the Inner Circle Dating App, which values a serious approach to dating and helps singles meet other like-minded individuals.
They manually ensure everyone on the app is who they say they are, while also checking everyone has a good, detailed profile. What does it mean for you? Well, you’re less likely to have your time wasted by fakes, or people who don’t really know if they want to date or not. It’s pretty important when you consider that over half of all singles consider online dating to be the best option right now. With so many people now using apps, you need to make sure you’re filtering out the players.
But is it worth dating right now? Inner Circle found that only 23% of single people want to wait until after curfew to date again, so it’s definitely the right time to get involved. What’s most surprising is that only 7% of people miss kissing… could this mean our love lives are truly digitized?
So, as more and more people embrace technology as a way of finding love, how can you make sure you give it the best shot possible? Inner Circle is committed to helping you forge a deep connection with somebody, rather than a dead-end date.
Here are some of Inner Circle’s top tips for dating success:
Set your intentions: If you want to find a serious relationship, commit to putting yourself out there and meeting new people.
Try new things: Don’t blinker yourself by just looking for people that fit your ‘type’, keep an open mind. Maybe now is the time to start making the first move. If you get a little nervous making conversation Inner Circle will help you with built-in conversation prompts and hilarious auto-corrects to help you get going.
Meet irl, if restrictions allow: We all know a Zoom date just doesn’t quite do it. Inner Circle also hosts brilliant events around the city – these have been on hold, but as soon as it’s safe to do so, they’ll be back.
You’ve got to be in it to win it: Dating app algorithms mean that the more active you are, the more visible you are. Play the game by refreshing your profile and liking potential matches frequently.
Stick around for the late shift: Inner Circle predicts its busiest time to use the app will be between 9-11pm. A little late night conversation, anyone?
