Amsterdam Light Festival Is Back This Winter With More Stunning Displays

It will be celebrating its 10th birthday!

It’s been 10 whole years since the very first Amsterdam Light Festival, but it’s become such an institution here that we can’t quite believe it’s only been that long! Last year everything went digital because of the pandemic, but this year should look more like the previous festivals.

The theme this year will be ‘Celebrate Light’, with the most incredible light works from the past 10 years making a comeback. So, if you’ve been hoping to see your favourite again sometime then you might have the chance to this winter.

You’ll be able to see the displays either by foot or by boat, with walking tickets and a roadmap via your phone costing 7.50 per person. If you’d like an audioguide then the price is €15.00. Boats are obviously more expensive, with a place on an open boat or a travel boat costing €26.50 per person.

You can book tickets on the Amsterdam Light Festival website, and the festival will run from December 2 until January 23, so there’s plenty of time to see all of the wonderful light art coming to the city.
