Whilst this latest lockdown has thrown some people’s plans into disarray, we can still have a merry Christmas, whether that be with family or by ourselves. Even Amsterdammers who were planning to eat out on Christmas Day can still have tasty restaurant food. With 5 days left to go until Christmas restaurants across the city have once again turned their attention to takeaway and you can order some very special meals from some incredible places.

1. De Kop Van Oost

De Kop Van Oost is offering a delicious-sounding Christmas menu this year for pickup on Christmas Eve. The Christmas dinner box serves 4 and it costs €150, which is €37.5 per person. The food comes with easy instructions on how to cook it, including a QR code that links to several instructive videos.

2. Cafe Cliche

Cafe Cliche always makes a tasty Christmas dinner box and this year you can either order the complete 4-course menu for €62.50 per person or order the courses individually. It might seem a bit pricey but the menu includes some pretty luxurious dishes, including lobster thermidor.

3. The Duchess

The Duchess is hands down one of the fanciest restaurants in Amsterdam but their Christmas menu is relatively cheap, at €50 per person and it sounds delicious. It’s the kind of meal box that needs to be finished at home, but they do provide instructions on how to cook the beef wellington and all of the delicious trimmings that accompany it.

4. Wolf Atelier

You can put together your own Christmas meal if you order from Wolf Atelier, choosing from lots of different options. Unlike the others on this list, there are vegan options available and if you’re eating with family then you don’t all have to eat the same things. The deer fillet and the seabass sound absolutely delicious and you can even order extras such as oysters.
